Our GRi11 Dance Off!
Cartwheel on, do the shuffle, do the worm, do the sprinkler, down, up, down, up and turn, now finish in a awkward position. It was the GRi11 Dance Off!!!!
We were in groups of 4 and we had to come up with a quick dance routine in 3 minutes. I was in a group with Emma HB, Josh B, and Ben H. We quickly came up with the idea for me and Emma to cartwheel on while Josh and Ben shuffled. We would then do the sprinkler 4 times, after the sprinkler we would bend down, reach for the floor and then pull up our arms into fists and jump up. We decided that we would do it for about 6-8 times. We rehearsed it a couple of times then Mr R blew his whistle. Everyone troupes down to crowd around him. He explained that everyone had 30 seconds to show off what they had done in the circle that was in the middle of the hall. As soon as he mentioned the circle we all knew that we would not be able to cartwheel on. So we all shuffled on and then went with the original plan after. After the music stopped we froze in mid jump. Mr R walked up to the circle and firstly pointed to our opponents. Our classmates cheered and clapped. Ohhh. That will be a hard on to beat I thought. As Mr Robertson turned around the ground around use erupted into loud cheers, claps and wistles. We had won!!! I will tell you more about it when we verse the other winners.

Birthday time!!
Saturday. I have to wake up early for one reason and one reason only. It was my little sister's birthday! She was turning 8 and she is really excited. In the morning she woke and nga, my mum, and I wait patiently for the rest of my family to wake up. When they finally did we opened her presents, they were mostly toys. We had pancakes, strawberries and chocolate fountain for breakfast. I then went to play tennis. I won my doubles and lost my singles.
When I got home nga and mum had gone to guitar lessons, so my dad and I tidied our house. When the birthday girl got back we prepared for the party, I wrapped the pass the parcel, helped with the cake and did many other things. We went to Flip City. We jumped around for a hour and then went into the party room called a glow room.
The glow room is a dark room with a single white light. There was writing in the table that said... Happy 8th birthday Ngataria. On the wall it says happy birthday! When you turn off the white light you can choose to have a purple light or no light at all. When you have the purple light on it illuminates the writing and it glows. We put some of the chalk on our faces so we glowed too. Also our white tops glowed. We played games and ate.
When we went home we got ready for we were going to the speedway. With warm clothes and food we headed to the track. We got covered in mud. Not everything went to the shedule so it ran a bit late. When the fireworks started I had earmuffs on but in the end I found out that I didn't need it. I was amazing!! We watched the derby and it was sooooo funny! There was this one car that was orange and had this funny honk I think like from a video game or movie. When going home everyone had dragging feet. We got home and nga kept on saying sleepily "This was the best birthday ever. "
Also on Sunday I went to the gala and worked from 11-4 and performed in Kapa Haka.
Did you go to the Gala? If so what was your favourite thing. I will love to hear from you guys.
Anyway I have probably said enough.
See you next time.

Our learning pit technology challenge.
The first Tuesday of, term 4. It's EVOLUTION!!! Oh... Sorry I forgot that you are not right here next to me. I meant that our integration unit is on Evolution. On Tuesday we had to build a balloon powered cars with only... A pair of scissors, some foam, a piece of cardboard, 4 skewers, 4 straws, and of course a balloon. We split into groups and got a piece of paper that had all our materials that we were allowed. I was in a group with Holly, Jaweria, Isabella, and Emma. Once our time was up we had a race to see which cars went the furtherest . Ours you could say kind of... Well, Failed. Luckily we didn't morn we thought... F.A.I.L. First Attempt In Learning. So next timewe will hopefully be able to do better.
I will try and give you more detail as we develop further into the Term. See you next time!

What I did in the holidays.
Welcome back to term 4! Now to what the blog post is about what I did in the holidays...
Well. I found out that the boy who went missing and was found dead was my 2nd cousin. My grandparents are coming down from Napier on Tuesday to go to the funeral.
On the brighter side it was my big sister's birthday on the 29th of September. It was also my mum's birthday on the 10th of October. We didn't do much for either.
My cousins came down from whangarei and the oldest one, Leah, my big sister and I went to the movies and watched Pan.

My animation from Mind Lab
This is Ryan's and my animation that we made at Mind Labthis was probaly my favourite thing other than the 3D printing.
At Mind Lab we did a stop motion animation. To make a stop motion animation you have to take lots of pictures and move the props a little bit each time. I worked with Ryan and we made this animation. It's about at pig that was getting cooked and escaped with a army of land sea and air animals. Enjoy!

To Mind Lab we go!
On Tuesday 22nd of September we are going to Mind Lab on Wellington! We are leaving school at about 8am and traveling by bus. It's going to be a loonngg ride. But it will hopefully be worth it. Mr R and Miss G (my teachers if you didn't know) said that you get to learn about animations, coding, robotics and 3D printing. I am especially excited about the 3D printing and coding and the animation. Actually I am excited about all of it. I can't wait!! I will update you all about it when I get back.

Cross country writing
This is my cross country writing hope you enjoy!
I stared at my classmates as they frantically tried (or pretend) to hitch a ride (or even a wave from a diver was enough). As we waited impatiently for the bus we played a game of Paper, Scissors, Rock. Just as I was winning 5:4 the bus came bumping down the road. We bustled onto the bus and I sat next to Isabella and Isabella sat in the middle of Jaweria and me. Then we started the long bus ride. I even started to feel a bit bus-sick, but it went away as soon as we got there. We had to walk up a big hill to get to the start. Our class was the last to arrive. When we got there Mrs Langley was just starting to speak of the day plan. It was the year 3’s race, then the year 4’s race, year 5’s and then ours, and they always went girls first and then boys next.
After Mrs Langley had summed up the day the year 3’s went to do their warm ups. I sat down with Isabella, Jaweria and Arianna, we chatted and drew and chatted some more . We cheered and clapped as the year 3’s with my little sister in the middle of them, came running past. I quickly had some snacks and some water. It wasn't long until we had to go for our warm ups. As we waddled down a steep hill to the starting line Isabella, Jaweria, and I huddled together shivering. We could not even do the warm ups properly, we just stood as still as statues.
BANG!!! The fake gun fired. Isabella and I ran up and over the hill. I heard the cheers from the parents and children. I felt so proud. I ran through a gate and a giant hill taunted Isabella and me. “Come on Isabella! We can do it!” I said to Isabella as we jogged up the hill. “YAY! We made it.” Yelled Isabella “Not for long though.” I replied “Look.” We cringed our necks and saw about 3 more big hills. “AWWWW! That one was big enough.” We complained. “Let’s get it over and done with.” I said to her. We jogged and ran and sprinted and walked and then walked some more.
We were almost there when 4 or 5 boys past us, we could see some parents and a teacher with a camera. They all cheered, clapped and took photos as we speed past. We went into a gravel road in the middle of a forest. I fell down and rolled a bit. My knees were bleeding a bit and my hands had skin scraped off. I limped . When we finally finished we got a scrumptious sausage even with sauce for free! I gulped it down in 5 bites. Everyone packed up and sauntered back to school. I crashed into bed as soon as I got home. *SNORE!*

Term 2 Highlight
My favourite thing this term was the GRi11 fun day!
It was a day when we could dress up in our onesies or pjs and we brought games, food and we watched a movie. We could even bring our own sleeping bag and pillow if we wanted!
It was defiantly the best day of the term by far!
Bye for now! See you guys next term! :) ;)

Cross country!
This is my cross country recount. I'm not sure if I had fun or not but I sure did like the sausage at the end.
As we waited impatiently for the bus we played a game of Paper, Scissors, Rock. Just as I was winning 10:2 the bus came bumping down the road. We bustled onto the bus and I sat next to Isabella and Jaweria. Then we started the long bus ride. I even started to feel sick, but it went away as soon as we got there. My favourite thing to do
Sports
One of my favourite things to do is play sports. I play tennis, basketball, and netball.
I stared playing tennis about 3 years ago. It looked fun to me so I thought that I might try it, and I found that I was pretty good at it. I play in the interclub and I play for the Manawatu Lawn Tennis Club (or MLTC for short). I play with 4 other girls that are in my team, Ruby, Zahnia,

Zlata, and Ella. We play on Saturday mornings and we play 1 doubles game and 1 singles. But since we only have 5 players usually someone misses out on their doubles and someone else misses out on their singles each week, and we always swap around so everyone gets a fair turn.
Basketball I stared last year. My friend Emma said that I should do it. But I didn't. Then Mr R's team lost a player so he asked me to replace him. I talked to my mum and dad and they said that I should do it. When I told Mr R that I could play he told me that the game was next Thursday. So I had to practice, practice, practice. When Thursday came I felt a bit nervous to start off with but when I got on the court I was always having fun and really enjoying it. So I played for the rest of the year and this year I got into another team with some of my friends.
Now netball. I started 3 years ago when my mum suggested that I do netball. I said OK I'll give it a try. I got into a great team and the year after that my mum coached me. This year I got into the best only year 6 team which I was aiming for and I was really happy when I found out. I have been practicing a lot lately and I try to do 100 hoops a day.
I just love to do sports. It keeps me happy and fit. I can even EXPRESS myself through sports. Eg: If I win then I feel happy and I show it, and if I lose I can look sad, though sometimes I can hide it pretty well. etc.

One other thing that I like to do
I love to perform in Kapa Haka. I usually am the Kaea which means I tell everyone that we are about to start and I start and finish the songs. I also welcome on people like in a Marae and I basically lead the whole Kapa Haka group. Sometimes I like to start off songs with someone else so I feel more confident. I like doing Kapa Haka because I like to lead a group and I like singing, also I like Kapa Haka because it is always really fun and we learn some great song and actions, sometimes even poi.

Mud run writing
We had to write a piece of writing related to a picture of a person in mud.
I hope you enjoy. :)
The Mud Run
We were at Camp Green Pastures. It was time for the mud run. As we trudged along the grassy path I chatted happily to my friends: Isabella, Jaweria, and Emma. “What do you think it will be like?” asked Isabella. “How long will it be?” Questioned Jaweria. “ Do you think that we will be able to go around more than once?” Emma shouted eagerly over the noise. I replied to all of them with the same answer every time: “ I don’t know!” I answered patiently. When we got there we could all smell the stink from the mud (there also might of been a bit of cow poo in it too.). They let the parents go first through so they could find a place to stand incase they need to help us along the way.
When they were ready then we got to go down in a group of 4. “ Next up is Jaweria, Isabella, Emma and Tiaki.” called Miss G. “ YAY!” we yelled together. We made our way down to the sticky gooey mud. As it squelched beneath our feet we realized that the mud got deeper and deeper and even harder to walk through. We jumped into a muddy sticky pond. Emma went right under. When she came back up again she had mud completely covering her whole face. We all giggled to ourselves. As we carried on Isabella and I spotted that Emma and Jaweria looked like they were struggling quite a bit. Suddenly with no warning they stopped moving their legs altogether. “Isabella, Tiaki! Help we’re stuck!” They called. Isabella and I thought quickly. “Wait there and don’t move we will go and get Mr R to come and help.” I shouted back. “ We kind of can’t move anyway.” Jaweria said sarcastically. Isabella and I went through the rest of the mud run as fast as we could.
When we found Mr Robertson we quickly explained what had happened. We were quite relieved when he produced a long strong rope. “Show me where they are.” he commanded us. “ They are over here.” We replied together. We lead the way with our hearts beating loudly. When we reached Jaweria and Emma they looked as if they had gone down a bit in the mud. Also their expression looked a bit sad but their faces brightened a whole lot when they saw us and the rope.
“ Alright girls we are going to get you out of this mess. Please grab hold of the rope when we throw it to you. When you do then we can pull you out. Ok?” instructed Mr R “Yep.” Replied Emma and Jaweria. Mr R threw the rope and they caught it. Then we heaved! Slowly but surely they were yanked out of the mud. “ Who hoo!” We screamed. Together we finished the Mud Run. (thankfully no one else got stuck) After it was over and we had washed our clothes in the river we almost fell asleep. We got back to camp and never saw it again.

Graphic Design
This is my graphic design on Anzac Day. I did several different designs on keynote. For this one I got a field of poppies and put it as my background. Next I got a photo of some soldiers and faded them so they looked as if they were walking in a field of poppies and coming back from the past.

Plane Crash Writing
A story made up from the certain words that are underlined it all started with the two words...
Plane Crash
As I sat up slowly I heard a scream from the back of the back of the plane. I thought to myself that me and maybe one or two other people were awake. I stood up and made my way towards the cockpit. I peered cautiously around the corner and saw both the pilots either unconscious or dead. Then out the window I saw a man brushing his teeth by a river with a turquoise toothbrush. I hit the emergency exit button and shuffled over to him. He looked up, saw me and then offered me a big watermelon. I took it thankfully. I was really hungry. I cracked it open and took a huge bite. My teeth sank deeper and deeper until they touched together. The fruit juice trickled down my thought. It was scrumptious!! Once I had finished my meal I introduced myself."Hello I am Tiaki. What is your name?" I questioned him "I am Joseph." he replied. "Thank you for the watermelon" I said. "no problem." he replied I started walking but I didn't see the half hidden fallen log. Joseph kindly helped me up. I could walk fine but I felt great agony in my leg. He led me through the jungle in front of us. I tried to get him to tell me where we were going but he just would just shake his head and stare straight ahead. When we were near the end of the jungle I could hear music and laughing. As me and Joseph emerged from the jungle I stared around. There were food shops and brightly coloured stalls. My nostrils flared at the smell of everything. I wandered around the market place and took my time looking at everything. I also traveled around the whole village. Everyone I saw was cheerful and smiling all the time. I made my way over to the other end of the village where not many children or parents went. There was a wired fence that towered above me. Beyond the fence was an area where some covered up white bird-like machines. I watched them take off and land. Then I understood why the man brought me here. I looked everywhere so I could thank him but the Joseph seemed to have disappeared, so I couldn't say how much this meant to me. "I was going home tomorrow." I said to myself. three days later I was in my second favourite beach chair reading my favourite book in my beach house in Hawaii. Finally I was at home. Or one of them that is. Home sweet home sweet. That is how I want it to always be.
The End!!
